A beginning is a very delicate time.

I did this CAD drawing back in 10th grade for a drafting class. After finishing all the standard assignments, my teacher handed me a box of parts for a come-along and told me to draft it in isometric view. That drawing became my first real portfolio piece.

By the next year, I was working part-time as a drafter in Alcoa’s Engineering Department. Later, during my first Landscape Architecture internship interview, this piece was singled out as especially impressive.

If I were a superhero, this would be my origin story.
