Beekeeping: There’s a lot of buzz surrounding this one. I originally built several primitive log hives, but never managed to attract a swarm. Eventually, I ended up buying a box of bees.
Below, you can see me introducing them to their new home, this was before my bee suit was delivered so I had to hack one together. The honey is from my second year’s harvest—sweet reward for a lot of learning and patience.

Woodworking: It’s grain therapy: a blend of art, craftsmanship, sharp things, and power tools. It’s also a great way to unwind and recharge away from a screen.

Fishing:I took a long break from fishing—something I did a ton of as a kid. But eventually, I got hooked again.
On the left is a cubera snapper I caught in Panama, out in the Pacific Ocean. It was successfully released. On the right are spotted prawns, caught in the Puget Sound and pulled up from 200 feet deep—they were delicious.

Gardening: A passion I got from my mother—something that really grounds me. It’s peaceful, rewarding, and always evolving.
